Business profile and Tap to Pay payments under $1.00 have no fee. Venmo’s fee schedule lists the Tap to Pay fee as 2.29% + $0.09, while its Business Profile help article says 2.29% + $0.10. The calculator uses the fee schedule; the difference is one cent per payment.
Personal or business profile: which costs less?
The personal profile fee is a flat 2.99%, while the business profile adds a fixed $0.10 to a lower percentage. From $9.87 up, a business profile always costs less. On a $100.00 payment you would save $0.99.
Instant transfer vs standard transfer
Getting the money out is a second, separate fee. A standard transfer to your bank is free. An instant transfer costs 1.75% (minimum $0.25, maximum $25.00) of the amount you move. Here is what reaches your bank after a goods and services payment on a personal profile:

$2.99 on a personal profile, so you receive $97.01. A business profile pays $2.00 on the same payment.
Are Venmo payments between friends free?
Yes. Personal payments that are not marked as goods and services have no fee for the sender or the receiver, as long as the sender pays from their Venmo balance, bank account or debit card.
How much is the Venmo instant transfer fee?
1.75% (minimum $0.25, maximum $25.00) of the amount you transfer. Moving $97.01 costs $1.70. A standard transfer is free and usually arrives in 1 to 3 business days.
Does Venmo charge a fee for paying with a credit card?
Yes, the sender pays 3% on top of the payment: sending $100.00 with a credit card costs them $103.00. The receiver still gets the full $100.00, minus any seller fee.
Do I get the Venmo fee back if I refund a buyer?
No. Venmo does not refund the seller fee on business profile payments, and on a personal profile you cover the fee amount when you refund the buyer.
